I'm Jay Bonet, a lifelong Bay Area native (Marin-San Francisco). I've been here all my years but two, when I ventured away to Seattle, Wa. in eighth grade. This is where I first picked up that Gee-tar (thanks Arnon, Matt). First song: Iron Man.

I owe a lot to my mother for supporting / tolerating my musical tendencies. I remember once, as a boy, I had done something bad and was grounded, but my Mom and me were getting ready to go see a Ray Charles show, and she leans down and says " I don't want you to get the wrong idea, you're still grounded, this is just part of your musical education." Priorities, you know? You can't miss a living legend when they come to town! Right? When I came back to Cali from Seattle I kept on pickin' in clubs as a sideman before I was legal. They used to make me wait outside when I wasn't playing (cold fingers). Since then, I've stepped out of the role of sideman and have begun directing my own band, Buckaroo Bonet's - Los Tres Borrachos. I consider myself a purveyor of fine, lo-fidelity sounds and all things greasy and raw.
